Our practical 4&5 is all about research on the same topics that we are assigned. It is all about searching with a correct technique of searching and also the correct keywords to use.

We need to search by using the same keywords in three search engine. Search engine that I used for searching the keywords are Google Search Engine, Yahoo Directory & Metacrawler Search Engine.

Here are the keywords used by me for searching:
Keywords: Impact of terrorism on world economy.
Search Phrases: (Terrorism OR Terror Campaign) AND (World OR Glob*) AND (Economy OR Market)

With this search phrases, it helps me to search the correct and relevant topics. After much searching using the same search phrases for all three search engine, each search engine have their advantages and disadvantages of themselves.

I was impressed about the Yahoo Directory and Metacrawler Search Engine. As for Yahoo Directory, I did not used it often and donot know the function about so well. After doing this practical, it helps me to understand better about this Directory categories in Yahoo Search.

Another search engine I was shocked about is Metacrawler Search Engine. I did not know that this search engine exists. In this search engine, the functions is much better than the other search engine. There are more functions in it and also it filters the best and relevant search results from all over the search engine.

To me, all the three search engine is very user friendly and good for me to research on the topics I need to research on. After much comparisons between all the three search engines, the most preferred and suitable search engine for me is Google Search Engine. Even though the number of hits is large, it helps me to physically filter the relevant search results for my search. Lastly, Google Search is more established and well-known search engine.
